Who Qualifies?

Businesses are classed as energy-intensive industries if they:

* Operate in eligible sectors such as steel, glass, paper, cement, ceramics, and chemicals.
* Spend a significant proportion of turnover on energy.
* Meet the government’s criteria for state aid and sector classification.

Eligibility must be assessed carefully. Our consultants can confirm whether your organisation qualifies and guide you through the application process.

MeasureEnergy Bills Discount Scheme (EBDS) – EII Support/Certify

Aimed at protecting industry from volatile wholesale energy prices, this scheme offers enhanced discounts for EIIs that meet the government’s criteria.

UK Emissions Trading Scheme (UK ETS) Compensation

Provides relief for eligible sectors exposed to international competition, ensuring a level playing field with businesses outside the UK.

Other targeted funding

From decarbonisation grants to innovation support, additional opportunities exist to help EIIs cut carbon and energy costs. These are often time-limited and competitive.

How to apply

* Evidence needed: financial data, energy usage records, and sector codes.
* Application process: usually through the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero (DESNZ).
* Timescales: processing can take weeks, so it’s best to act early.

We support businesses throughout, preparing applications, validating data, and ensuring you maximise any reliefs available.

What Is British Industry Supercharger

The UK government recognises that energy-intensive industries (EIIs) face higher exposure to energy costs. To help, several schemes are available to ease these pressures and protect competitiveness while supporting the transition to net zero.

The government has introduced the British Industry Supercharger (BIS), a support package designed to ease energy costs for energy-intensive industries. It helps UK businesses remain competitive while driving progress towards net zero.

With BIS, eligible organisations can benefit from:
* Reduced electricity network charges
* Exemptions from certain policy costs
* Targeted relief to improve competitiveness against international markets

Not every business will qualify, so eligibility checks are essential.

EV Charging Ports

As electric vehicle adoption grows, providing charging infrastructure can provide your business with a competitive advantage whilst also generating new revenue streams. The UK's upcoming 2030 ban on new petrol vehicle sales means that the rapid growth of the electric vehicle (EV) market is set to not only continue but accelerate at pace. As a result,  EV charging infrastructure must scale quickly to meet rising demand, presenting a significant opportunity for businesses across the country to explore EV charging point installation.
