BEKO’s Watford facility achieved self-sustainability, saving 15.69t of CO2 annually and generating surplus energy, thanks to a cutting-edge solar solution from Advantage Utilities.

Intro

BEKO, a globally recognised leader in high-quality home appliances, is committed to sustainability and environmental stewardship.

This commitment is exemplified at their Watford facility, where advanced technology and sustainable practices work together to minimise environmental impact and achieve energy self-sufficiency.

The Challenge

BEKO aimed to align its Watford facility with stringent sustainability standards. The goal was to drastically reduce CO2 emissions, achieve substantial energy savings, and ideally, reach self-sufficiency while contributing surplus energy back to the grid.

Meeting these stringent sustainability standards required a top-tier, reliable, and technologically advanced energy solution.

The Solution

Commercial Solar Install

To realise their sustainability goals, BEKO partnered with Advantage Utilities, a company that shares their commitment to quality, reliability, and environmental stewardship.

Advantage Utilities implemented a cutting-edge solar energy solution at the Watford facility, which included:

  • 208 SolarWatt Panel vision AM 4.5 pure 425 (Glas-Glas): These high-efficiency solar panels are known for their durability and superior energy generation capabilities.
  • 105 SolarEdge S1000 Optimisers: These devices ensure that each panel operates at maximum efficiency, even if individual panels are shaded or dirty.
  • 1 SolarEdge 66.6K Inverter: This state-of-the-art inverter converts the solar energy generated into usable electricity for the facility, ensuring optimal energy generation and reliability.

This solution was designed not only to meet BEKO’s immediate energy needs but also to exceed them, allowing the facility to contribute excess energy back to the grid, thus supporting wider community sustainability efforts.

The Outcome

The collaboration between BEKO and Advantage Utilities has delivered significant environmental, economic, and technological benefits:

  • Sustainability Achievements:some text
    • CO2 Emissions Reduction: The project has successfully reduced CO2 emissions by 15.69 tons annually - equivalent to planting 720 trees each year - highlighting BEKO’s dedication to environmental stewardship..
    • Energy Self-Sufficiency: The Watford facility now generates 81.12 MWh of energy annually, meeting its own needs and contributing surplus energy to the grid, enhancing local energy resilience.
    • Technological Innovation: The integration of SolarWatt panels and SolarEdge optimisers and inverters ensured high efficiency and reliability, crucial for meeting BEKO’s sustainability goals.
  • Economic Benefits:some text
    • Lower Energy Bills: The facility has seen a significant reduction in energy costs, thanks to the efficient solar energy system.
    • Potential Revenue: By contributing excess energy back to the grid, BEKO not only supports sustainability but also opens up the potential for generating revenue, ensuring a strong return on investment (ROI).

Conclusion

Through the use of advanced technology and a shared commitment to sustainability, BEKO’s Watford facility has become a model of energy efficiency and environmental responsibility.

This successful collaboration underscores the importance of choosing partners who align with your brand’s values of quality, reliability, and a dedication to sustainable practices.
